The Challenge

In 2021, we were entrusted with the exciting task of finding and designing a new location in Berlin, while also overseeing the entire process as a comprehensive partner. Our goal was to develop a new design concept that reflects the connection to the headquarters in Hamburg while creating a space that serves as an ideal platform for both artists and employees to engage in creative collaboration. The nearly invisible implementation of sound technology, as well as meeting the requirements for sound insulation, presented significant technical challenges.

The welcome area with integrated coffee point ensures a warm initial arrival at Warner Music. The design of the wave and the groove-shaped “record look” leads visitors “in the flow” to the music area.
Accentuated color diversity reflects the diversity of people, artists, and generations.
Round glass walls support the concept. Meeting rooms, work areas, and lounges were strategically placed to create diverse opportunities for work and communication.

The Solution

During the search for a location, we found a suitable property that perfectly met the requirements. Special attention was given to the location in Berlin-Mitte. The design possibilities and flexibility of the property, as well as a significant proportion of terraces, were also crucial for the BEAM building.

The new space offers ample room for creative work, while also providing various areas for focused work and meeting rooms. However, the key features of the new environment are the stage, the bar, and the music lounge.

The “Hall of Fame” in the Awards Room reflects the success of the artists and Warner Music.
The stage offers space and technology for small concerts and events—an ideal platform for artists. For GRAEF, it is one of the most defining design elements.
The curved platform right next to the stage provides plenty of space for the audience to sit, work, and enjoy the performances by artists.
The music lounge is a central listening and meeting space with Dolby Atmos quality for artists.

Interior Design

The interior design concept “The Wave” for Warner Music is characterized by a black-and-white groove pattern that reflects the company’s corporate colors. The inspiration behind this design came from both a vinyl record collection and the grooves of a record itself, representing the flow of music throughout the space.

This concept is evident in the round glass partitions, the organic waves of the flooring, and the unique key features such as the welcome area, cocktail bar, music lounge, and stage for artist performances.

The vibrant colors of the furniture and the carpets integrated into the parquet flooring symbolize diversity and a passion for various music genres. The entire space was designed to be “instagrammable” from every angle. Music is felt and experienced throughout the entire area.

Vinyl record shelves as eye-catchers: The elements come in various neon colors and shapes. They intricately reflect the “The Wave” concept in detail.
The bar and boardroom are dynamically separated. Red accents seamlessly connect the spaces in a harmonious way.
In the boardroom, red and blue contrasts are playfully applied. Organic shapes are also a theme of “The Wave” here.
Even the restrooms are instagrammable. Various shades of black were the theme, with glittering gold grout being one of the many details.
A perfect place above the rooftops of Berlin with a unique view. The tulip-shaped umbrellas on the spacious terraces also follow the corporate design.
